Little baby Florence Cameron was wrapped in a shawl made by a Sutton Coldfield grandmother

“I wrote them a card and a little note that said, ‘I thought this would keep your precious bundle warm and cosy’. For some reason, I always believed they would be having a girl and I’m pleased they have given her Rosie as a middle name, as that’s one of my favourite girls’ names.”

Mrs Fraser-Cross, from Sutton Coldfield, said she was looking forward to telling her ten grandchildren that the young baby was wearing the shawl.

“I love to make things for people, that’s what I’ve become known for.”

Mrs Fraser-Cross is also known as a prolific fundraiser, having raised money for numerous charities.

Her father served in the Coldstream Guards at Buckingham Palace and was wounded during World Wat Two, which is why she has organised an event for Help the Heroes at the Barn, Garden and Social Club in Erdington, near Sutton Coldfield on September 24.

“My dad served in the war and I think it’s important we support our troops”
