Your chance to name Birmingham's new £484m hospital
Sep 6 2010 by Alison Dayani, Birmingham Mail
AS A swanky new £484 million hospital prepares to become a shining beacon for Birmingham and the Black Country, the Birmingham Mail is today giving YOU the chance to help decide what it will be called.
Some of the best homegrown talent, such as rock’s ‘Prince of Darkness’ Ozzy Osbourne to TV presenter Adrian Chiles, celebrity chef Rustie Lee and soul singer Ruby Turner, are championing such an important legacy for the future.
Each is representing one of four names shortlisted by hospital bosses after they sifted through a staggering 682 public suggestions for vitally important building at Grove Lane, Smethwick.
The final title will come down to:
The Midlands Metropolitan Hospital – which gets Ozzy Osbourne’s vote.
Birmingham and Black Country Hospital – championed by West Bromwich Albion fan Adrian Chiles
Grove Lane Hospital – the choice of Handsworth super-chef Rustie Lee
James Brindley Hospital – preferred by city soul songstress Ruby Turner.
