Balsall Common community campaigner sexually assaulted weight loss woman
A MARRIED former bank worker and community campaigner has admitted sexually assaulting a weight-loss group leader during a bizarre palm reading session.
David Deanshaw stroked and kissed the woman’s hand after telling her about one of his sexual encounters, saying: “I used to be a predator but I take things more gently now.”
Deanshaw, a former secretary of Balsall Common Residents’ Association, also told his victim that she was “not a one-man woman,” Warwick Crown Court heard.
Matthew Barnes, prosecuting, said Deanshaw, who had been married for 35 years, struck after attending an information session run by the woman, a weight loss counsellor in Solihull. He stayed behind on the pretext of discussing a medical condition before telling her she had creative hands and starting to read her palm.
Mr Barnes said: “She felt he was deriving sexual satisfaction from touching her hand and talking inappropriately, which made her speechless and frightened.”
