IT’S the worst road in the West Midlands for getting a parking ticket.
Council traffic wardens handed out a staggering 3,995 fines in just 12 months on Alum Rock Road, in Washwood Heath, according to new figures.
This amounts to an incredible 332 a month, or 11 each day.
The city street came second in a survey of the most ticketed roads in the country.
The figures relate to fines handed out in 2008-09, the last full year with figures available.
A spokesman for Birmingham City Council said the number of tickets issued on Alum Rock Road has gone up after road markings and signs had been replaced.
He said: “Large sections of Alum Rock Road were unenforceable from late 2007 until early in 2009 due to poorly maintained lines and signs, missing road markings and incorrect Traffic Regulation Orders.
