FOUR teenagers, including a girl, have been arrested by police investigating a nightclub attack linked to a notorious Birmingham street gang.
Police swooped to detain the youngsters on suspicion of violent disorder after a bouncer at the popular 02 Academy was beaten over the head, possibly with a bottle.
One of those arrested in the operation was a 17-year-old girl while another was a boy aged just 14.
They were yesterday being questioned at Steelhouse Lane police station over an incident in the foyer of the Bristol Street club on Thursday, October 14.
Police said a member of the security staff suffered a head wound in an attack when a gang tried to rush the door.
In a separate incident a earlier on the same evening a second doorman was attacked and had a gun pointed at his face.
It is not clear whether the two incidents are linked.
Police are investigating whether those behind the attack are linked to the B515 gang.
The gang – identified by black and white bandanas – first emerged earlier this year in the Highgate area of the city where they attacked police cars and terrorised residents.
They call themselves B515 because the gang members are from the B5 and B15 postcodes.
They are thought to be behind drug dealing, thefts, and street robberies in the city centre.
The youths, some aged as young as 13, have posted rap videos on YouTube where they boast about drug dealing and carrying guns and knives.
