A CANNABIS farm believed to be the largest ever found in Solihull has been unearthed by police.
Up to 450 plants were found when officers raided a four-bed semi-detached property in Conway Road, Fordbridge, at around 5pm on November 8.
Police believe the haul would have yielded drugs with a street value of £50,000. A woman in her mid-20s, of Vietnamese origin, was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.
A six-month-old baby also found in the property is being cared for by the police protection unit. Pc Tom Thacker said police acted after a tip-off from suspicious neighbours.
He said: “There were plants in various stages of maturity.
“It was a very professional set-up designed to produce cannabis on a grand scale. We found advanced irrigation and ventilation systems, and the offenders had by-passed the electricity supply to obtain free energy.”
