Black Country X Factor star Wagner under-fire from Tory MP

Wagner on the X Factor

BLACK Country crooner Wagner Carrilho’s energetic performances on X Factor could land him in hot water after it emerged he was also claiming incapacity benefits.

The 54-year-old former PE and karate teacher from Gornal, Dudley, has been receiving £91.40 a week in state handouts since last year after injuring his shoulder, a report said.

Tory MP Philip Davies hit out, saying it showed “what an absolute racket” the benefits system was.

“There is no way on God’s earth that this chap could be described as incapacitated,” he said.

“I’m sure Iain Duncan Smith will be elated to see this chap demonstrating so ably what an absolute racket incapacity benefit has become.”

The Brazilian father-of-one has undergone three major operations to rebuild ruptured tendons in his shoulders since 2008.
