Police are on alert for Frankfurt German Christmas Market pickpockets in Birmingham
Dec 2 2010 by Mark Cowan
THE annual Frankfurt German Christmas Market is one of Birmingham’s most popular attractions.
Every year almost three million people head into the city centre to enjoy the food, drink and shopping on offer.
But there are fears that crooks could see the market as rich pickings.
Last year a number of people fell victim to lightning-quick pickpockets mingling alongside genuine shoppers soaking up the festive spirit.
Police in Birmingham city centre will be out in force again this week ensuring visitors are safe.
Officers from the Birmingham city centre neighbourhood policing team will be working with market security staff and city centre wardens.
