Chelmsley Wood man fighting for life after stabbing
A YOUNG man was last night fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed and left for dead next to a busy Midland road.
The 23-year-old victim was found slumped on the pavement near to a traffic island on the tree-lined Moorend Avenue, that borders Chelmsley Wood centre.
West Midlands Police said the man, from Chelmsley Wood, had suffered a stab wound to the chest after being attacked.
The alarm was raised shortly after 10pm on Tuesday after a passer-by found the man a short distance from a fast food restaurant.
A force spokesman said: “He is recovering in hospital where he is in a critical condition.”
The stabbing comes less than two days after the body of a young man was found in a Birmingham street.
