Land Rover thefts warning in the Midlands

POLICE in the Midlands have issued a warning to the owners of Land Rover Defenders after several were targeted by thieves in the past few days.
Officers believe thieves may be targeting the vehicles for their parts.
In one incident at Lickey Hills Country Park on Wednesday a bonnet was unscrewed and stolen from a vehicle.
Another vehicle was stolen from a locked compound in Bromsgrove on the same day and attempts were made to steal another vehicle last week.
Sgt Carl Paskin said that patrols were now paying special attention to Land Rover Defenders and local dealers were being requested to warn their customers.
He said: “It is believed that they are stripped down and the parts either sold in this country or exported. There appears to be a big market for Land Rover spares. We would urge owners to be extra vigilant.”
