THOMAS Cook has been publishing travel guides for more than 135 years – but only now has it produced one on Birmingham.
The new pocket-sized guide is part of a new range entitled “The Best of Britain” and provides an authentic commentary on the city.
It not only recommends places of interest to visit but also gives a host of factual information aimed at promoting Birmingham to new tourists and frequent visitors.
There’s information on the best places to shop and eat as well as advice on where to stay, with accommodation prices ranging from the Birmingham Central Backpackers’ Hostel in Digbeth to the upmarket Malmaison Hotel in the Mailbox.
The guide is written by travel writer and photographer Gordon Lethbridge, who has lived, worked and studied in the city.
