Aston Hall used in backdrop to Indian pop video

A FAMOUS Birmingham landmark has become the star of a music video which is becoming an online sensation and has topped the charts overseas.

Indian superstar Sarbjit Cheema is filmed serenading a leggy model around the beautiful grounds and rooms at Aston Hall in his latest hit YAARI.

The song has shot straight to the top of the Punjabi charts and a YouTube upload has been viewed more than 10,000 times.

The four-minute-long video was shot and directed by Stewart Addison and Jazz Virk of city-based Film Division Productions, and is also proving a hit with British and Canadian fans.

Council leaders are absolutely delighted with the video and hope the starring role will help attract more visitors to the stunning 376-year-old hall, as well as more filming requests.

Councillor Martin Mullaney, cabinet member for leisure, sport and culture, said: “We’re very proud of the Aston Hall restoration project and now the Hall can be seen in all its glory by a whole new audience.

“Who knows, maybe this could lead to more location filming in the future.
