UNEMPLOYED young people are being urged to take advantage of an award-winning intern programme.

Barnardo’s Pathway Volunteer Scheme allows applicants on Jobseeker’s Allowance to complete a work experience placement with the charity while having the flexibility to look for employment and leave to start a new job if they need to.

David Booker, UK director for Volunteering said: “Barnardo’s Pathway Volunteer sch- eme offers young people a range of stimulating placements that provide them with meaningful work experience at the same time as supporting them.”

Young people aged 18 to 25 can take part.
