FORMER Longbridge workers who have waited in vain for nearly six years for Trust Fund payments worth up to £2,500 have received “salt in the wound” letters – telling them they OWE cash.
Baffled ex-car workers who became creditors of MG Rover after its crash have received letters from administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers telling them they have been overpaid on dividend sums.
Former Longbridge worker Kevin Whitehouse, of Rubery, received a letter from PwC saying he owed them £6.40. Meanwhile, other workers have received cheques for as little as 50 pence.
Kevin, who worked at the car factory for 12 years and now works for Jaguar Land Rover, said: “This is just rubbing salt in the wounds. It’s laughable really but I didn’t find it so funny when I first read the letter.
“At this precise moment in time, I owe £6.40 for losing my job at Longbridge. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
“There are people out there who will have had a similar letter who are not in as fortunate a position as I am and will look on this as an absolute insult, especially coming just after Christmas.
