Birmingham people urged to tweet daily through Lent

PEOPLE in Birmingham are being urged to count their blessings with a daily tweet throughout Lent.

Christian Aid has joined forces with bishops from around the UK to ‘Tweet their blessings’, share reflections and encourage people to pray, act and give.

The tweets, which will be daily from the beginning of Lent, March 9, until Easter are being supported by Birmingham Cathedral and Dr John Sentamu, Archbishop of York and former Bishop of Birmingham.

Birmingham Cathedral dean the Very Rev Catherine Ogle said: “We really hope to encourage one another to engage in a reflective conversation, focusing on the good things in our lives and learning not to take things for granted that so many in our world are denied.”
