Willenhall mum fiddled £22k benefits

A MOTHER of two has been given a suspended prison sentence after she fiddled nearly £22,000 in benefits.

Jaswinder Singh Grewal, 38, of Alvington Close, Willenhall, fraudulently picked up a total of £21,923, Wolverhampton Crown Court was told.

Grewal failed to declare she was living with her husband when she made claims between 2001 and 2009.

She was given a 26-week prison sentence suspended for two years by Judge Martin Walsh.

She was also placed under supervision for two years and ordered to carry out 200 hours community punishment.
