Children at Little Sutton Primary School celebrate World Book Day

CHILDREN and staff at Little Sutton Primary School enjoyed a day of dressing up as their favourite book characters to celebrate World Book Day.

The school, in Worcester Lane, Sutton Coldfield, treated children to a variety of book related activities throughout the day.

A special assembly was held at the end of the day which gave the children a chance to have stories read to them and show off their costumes to the school.

Mrs Emma Whittaker, Year 6 teacher organiser, said: “It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, and all the children looked fantastic as the book characters.”

Youngsters were visited by a Viking who helped the children make a longboat.

Year 5 pupil Oliver Tipper said: “It was a fantastic day and most of all we enjoyed helping the Viking build his boat.”

The school thanked everyone involved, including the parents for their help with the book day costumes.
