Weekend of storytelling at mac Birmingham

IN April, mac Birmingham hosts Listening for Landscape, a weekend of storytelling.

Visitors to the three-day event, from April 1 to 3, will be able to gather round to listen to tales of adventure and romance from some of the UK’s brightest spoken word and musical talents including Katrice Horsley, Michael Harvey, Simon Heywood and Stacey Blythe. Storytelling has recently enjoyed a revival, becoming an increasingly popular art form for artists and audiences alike. Produced in association with Adverse Camber, Listening for Landscape will be a celebration of storytelling, encouraging new audiences to engage with this revived art form.

Naomi Wilds, Adverse Camber’s producer, said: “It’s really exciting to have a whole weekend of storytelling.

“The event includes tales which have been passed down through hundreds of voices to those being told for the very first time.”

Weekend tickets cost £15 or £10 for concessions.
