IT BEGAN with the trials and tribulations of Chinese toilets but knowing that a seven hour trek was to come, none of the girls wanted to be caught out along the wall.

It was the first time they had been faced with a hole in the floor and it will definitely be the last.

This was far from the luxury facilities the Wags are used to but after a few moans and groans, we were off.

And after seeing the incline ahead, toilets were soon forgotten. Then we were faced with a narrow strip of rubble with a sheer drop on either side.

Melissa said: “It was quite scary over the high bits, put one foot wrong and you are over the edge.” At which point Hayley replied: “I’d rather be over the edge!”

She added: “This is not walking it’s mountain climbing.”

But while the trekking was tough, there was no disputing how captivating the scenery was.
