BRUMMIES are set to be left shaken but not stirred by the Royal Wedding after local barmen came up with Patriotic Cocktails for the glittering event.

Revellers can enjoy drinks including ‘Royale Wedding’ – a twist on the classic Kir Royale cocktail. There is also a toast to blushing bride Kate Middleton with a new ‘English Rose’ cocktail.

The drinks are set to also boost Birmingham charity the Edward’s Trust, which helps children and families cope with bereavement.

City centre sister venues The Victoria, Jekyll & Hyde pub, Bodega restaurant and Island Bar came up with the idea to toast the best of British occasions from the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton to St George’s Day and Wimbledon.

Matt Scriven, director of the venues, said each would serve a different creation, of which 50 pence from every drink would go to the charity.

The Jekyll & Hyde, in Steelhouse Lane, will offer the ‘Royale Wedding’ with Island Bar, in Suffolk Street, offering the ‘English Rose’.

Keeping with the patriotic theme, The Victoria, in John Bright Street, has ‘All in Good Thyme’, a mix of whisky, butterscotch schnapps and white chocolate liqueur, while Bodega, in Bennett’s Hill, serves up ‘Henman’s Sombrero.’
