BIRMINGHAM is set for a scorcher this Easter weekend as our region basks in 24 degree sunshine.

The Met office has told the Birmingham Mail that high temperatures are to be expected for the entire weekend, but remember your brolly, because there may be thunderstorms.

John Hammond, Met Office forecaster, said: "For us here in Birmingham we’re having some very nice and very warm weather at the moment which is because of warm weather coming over the channel from the continent where the heat’s been building now for several days."
