OLYMPIC hopeful Laura Innes was a surprise guest at a primary school assembly when she took time out from training to make a visit home.
Laura, aged 21, who plays in goal for Great Britain’s handball team, thrilled youngsters at Water Orton Primary school when she joined in with the assembly.
She currently stars for the LK Zug team in Switzerland and is set to feature for the GB team in the 2012 London Olympics.
Laura, who was born in Water Orton, moved to Denmark when she was 18 in a bid to make her Olympic dream a reality.
Since establishing herself as an international she has joined one of Switzerland’s top clubs, but in the run-up to the 2012 Games she is being backed by the Asda store at Minworth, near Sutton Coldfield.
She told pupils: “Competing in the Olympics is a chance that only comes around once in a lifetime.”
