COMMUNITY groups could be set for a cash windfall after The Heart of England Community Foundation secured £1.7 million in European Union Cash.

The money will be given out to voluntary and community groups across the West Midlands on behalf of the European Social Fund. The project aims to get unemployed people closer to the job market. Deputy director Tina Costello said: “We can now give some of society’s most disadvantaged members the best chance of getting a job.”
