TEENAGERS from Warwickshire joined Prime Minister David Cameron to build a barrel raft on a programme dedicated to helping young people learn about responsibility and teamwork.
Alice Jackson and Harry Reynolds, both 16, were among a group of ten students at an Outward Bound centre on the shores of Ullswater, in Cumbria.
They had been invited to The Outward Bound Trust Centre at Howtown by The Challenge Network charity and the Prime Minister made a surprise visit to see the youngsters.
Henry, of Stratford-upon-Avon, said: “He helped us build the raft and it did not sink so he must have done an alright job.
“I’ve met people here I thought I’d never be friends with, even though we come from the same city.”
Warwick schoolgirl Alice added: “Mr Cameron said he thought this was massively important and he wanted to know what we thought about it. I’ve learned I’m more of an outdoor person than I thought.”
