A GROUP of travellers who were occupying a Birmingham park have moved onto a nearby area.

Around 15 caravans set up camp on Sennelleys Park, in Bartley Green, late last week, when the police were busy dealing with the funerals of three men killed during the riots and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s visit.

The group moved from the park around 10am yesterday and around 25 of them are now stationed at Manor Farm Park, Northfield.

Councillor Vivienne Barton (Con, Bartley Green) said: “They had been given notice to quit the land at Sennelleys and they are really sticking to the area. It’s like a merry go round.”

A resident, who did not wish to be named, said: “We’ve never had them here before. The residents don’t like it.”
