Teenager hurt after fall from roof in Oldbury

A TEENAGER was today recovering with leg, hip and wrist injuries after falling around 15 feet from a roof in the Black Country.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a canal tow path near the Bridge Inn, in Station Road, Oldbury, at around 11.15pm on Wednesday. They found a boy, believed to be aged 17, with suspected fall injuries.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews found a teenage boy, believed to be 17 years old, who had reportedly fallen approximately 15 feet from a roof.

“The boy sustained a suspected fractured leg and had hip and wrist injuries. Crews administered pain relief before immobilising him with a neck collar, spinal board and leg splint.

“The boy was transferred by land ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further assessment and treatment.”
