£3m energy upgrade at Brownhills flats

A MAJOR £3 million scheme to improve energy-efficiency at two blocks of flats in the Black Country has commenced.

The plan by landlord whg will benefit 17-storey Humphries House and the neighbouring eight-storey Severn House in Brownhills.

New boilers are being fitted to allow residents to monitor and control heat levels in their flats, exterior walls are being rendered and insulated, roofs replaced and double glazing installed.

Chief executive Gary Fulford said: “Work to Humphries and Severn Houses is not only significant in terms of investment but exciting as we are introducing cutting-edge green technology.”
