PLANNERS are set to approve a 15-metre mobile phone mast close to houses in Coseley despite protests from neighbours.

Dudley Council’s development control committee is expected to allow the mast for 02 and Vodafone on a footpath opposite the former Coseley Swimming Baths, in Pear Tree Lane, when it meets tonight.

Residents sent 15 letters of objection to the council, citing health concerns and claiming it would be an eyesore.

But a report by planning officers, recommending approval, said the mast met with international guidelines.
