FIERY ‘Dragon’ Duncan Bannatyne showed his caring side as he visited sick youngsters at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The Scottish millionaire was checking up on a business deal with 11-year-old kidney patient Campbell Morgan.

Tycoon Bannatyne, a star of BBC2’s Dragons’ Den, toured the hospital’s new renal unit, which he helped fund after a pitch by Campbell to buy his painting for £1,000 two years ago.

The schoolboy, from Bournville, won over the businessman where many others have failed with his picture of a ‘super kidney’.

During the visit yesterday, Bannatyne also took time out to pay a second visit to brain tumour patient Harry Moseley, who is in a coma after undergoing in-depth operations.

He befriended Harry when the youngster was raising money for cancer patients by making friendship bracelets and has kept a close eye on his condition.

Campbell, who gave Bannatyne another painting of a dragon, said: “It was really good to meet him. I painted him a dragon but he had this one for free this time.”
