Former SAS soldier jailed for 25 years for child sex offences

A FORMER SAS soldier who served in Iraq and Afghanistan has been jailed for 25 years for a string of vile sex offences against young girls.

Martin Finney | Ian Tuckley

Walsall-born Ian Tuckley, aged 32, and his half brother-in-law Martin Finney, a 40-year-old former paramedic, were locked up for a total of 49 years for a catalogue of abuse against young girls.

Relatives of the victims broke down in the public gallery as the sentences were read out by Judge Patrick Thomas QC at Worcester Crown Court yesterday.

Passing sentence Judge Thomas said there were few jurors who had been made to judge such “catalogues of depravity”.

Jailing the pair, he said neither had shown any remorse for their actions.

“You each had a choice; to tell the truth or to try and lie your way out of this position. You chose to lie.

“Courage has been shown in these proceedings by both the victims, not by either of you.”

Tuckley, a twice-married father of two, was found guilty of 15 charges, including rape.

Ten related to a teenager who was abused when she was aged between four and eight.

Five other charges, including the rape of a child under 13, were against another girl when she was aged between six and eight.

Tuckley also pleaded guilty to two sex offences against his first victim, when she was aged 16 and 17, and five against another girl when she was aged 16.
