It was also rather chilly when Mark McMorris of Canada soared through the air while practising for the men’s snowboard slopestyle finals during Winter X Games 2012 at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colorado.

Also celebrating victory was Australian Open men’s singles champion Serbia’s Novak Djokovic in central Melbourne, Australia. Djokovic defeated Spain’s Rafael Nadal in 5hrs 53mins to win a third Australian Open title earlier in the day.
