Strolling into a new spring

SINGLES today escaped the romance of Valentine's Day as they took to the hills for respite.

As part of a 'Love Walk' in the Malvern Hills a group of lover-less walkers were taken on a guided trek along some of the county's top trails.

Based on the Chakra system, which identifies seven key areas of energy that followers believe are windows to the soul, the walk was designed to throw off the shackles of winter.

Worcestershire author, Fiona Hopes, who led the one-day adventure, said: "February is the month when winter turns into spring and is full of energy providing the perfect time to look to the future.

"Whilst Valentine's Day is an age-old festival dedicated to lovers, it is a time of general optimism, hope and new beginnings"

The walk started at Holy Well and went via the Eye Well to the British Camp, known as the solar plexus Chakra, or emotional centre, to Chakra followers. For details on future walks contact Fiona Hope on 01684 892533 or email her at fiona@song-of-the-earth.com.
