Plea over attack in street

POLICE are appealing for the victim of an assault in Redditch to come forward.

Officers were called to Willow Way at about 8pm last Sunday after a man was reported to be lying in the gutter with a head injury.

But when police and an ambulance arrived, only a small amount of blood was found and extensive searches for the man were fruitless.

Officers now believe the mystery victim, described as tall and with dark hair, had made his way home.

House to house inquiries were also carried out and checks made with hospitals in the area but to no avail.

A man and a youth were arrested on suspicion of affray and have been bailed pending further inquiries.

The victim or anyone with information can contact Sgt Helen Bray in Redditch CID on 08457 444888 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
