It's a fair deal for top nosh

STAFF at Worcestershire County Council will be tucking into food made from products aimed at ensuring a fair deal for farmers in the developing world.

As part of Fairtrade Fortnight, a national annual event run in a bid to raise awareness, the council has organised a host of events to encourage people to think twice about what they eat and where the food as come from.

Staff will be able to taste Fairtrade food at stalls set up at County Hall, in Spetchley, Worcester.

They will also be able to enjoy meals cooked using Fairtrade ingredients, which will be served up in the staff canteen at County Hall.

A council spokesman said: "We have a policy which sees us supporting Fairtrade throughout the year by selling Fairtrade snacks at the staff shop and providing Fairtrade tea and coffee as standard for meetings.

"However, we will also be among the many individuals and organisations playing their part in Fairtrade Fortnight, which will run from February 25 until March 9."
