Funeral after family tragedy

THE funeral of a Midland mother whose disabled son was found dead in the garden at their family home was taking place today.

The service in memory of Heather Wardle, whose son’s decomposed remains were discovered in a suitcase, was set to take place in their home town of Redditch.

Being held at Ipsley Church, Redditch, the funeral comes more than three months after Ms Wardle, 39, was found dead at the base of a tree.

The mother-of-four was found with a ligature around her neck two days before 22-year-old James Hughes’ body was discovered.

A funeral for Mr Hughes has yet to take place and both deaths are still being treated by West Mercia Constabulary as unexplained.
