Teenager dies in crash near Malvern

A TEENAGER has died and three others were left seriously injured after a car crash in the Midlands.

The teenage man, who has not been named but was described as being in his late teens, was driving a black Corsa when the vehicle collided with a silver Land Rover Discovery driven by an elderly man in Sherridge Road, Leigh Sinton, near Malvern, at around 11.23am yesterday.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene of the smash after several members of the public dialled 999.

When crews arrived, they found the driver of the Corsa trapped inside the car and firefighters had to use specialist equipment to cut him free.

He was airlifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital, in Worcester, suffering serious multiple injuries but died shortly afterwards.

A coroner has since been informed of his death and a post mortem is expected to take place today.

Three passengers from the Corsa, two men and a woman, all in their late teens who have not been named, were taken to the same hospital by land ambulance with serious injuries.
