Redditch nursery school closed amid claims children were mistreated
A MIDLAND nursery has been closed while authorities investigate allegations that children were mistreated
Webheath Pre-school in Redditch, Worcestershire, will shut for six weeks while Ofsted probe claims that a young boy was abused.
Qualified teacher, Jane Drysdale, who has run the privately-owned nursery for more than 20 years, has been suspended until October 26, pending the result of the inquiry.
One mother, Lisa Steele, said that Jane Drysdale was upset about the decision.
She said: “She (Drysdale) was in a terrible state, and told us it had been closed down over a suspected case of abuse but she would not venture any further into it.”
An Oftsed spokesman confirmed an investigation had been launched, saying: “We have suspended the registration of this pre-school in order to protect children while an investigation takes place.”
