Mohawks win more medals

Mohawks skaters in action

THE Great Britain squad, comprising of three Mohawk Ice Racing Club skaters from Solihull, followed on from success competed in the penultimate World Cup event in Quebec, Canada, and landed yet another medal.

The team followed on from their triumph in Latvia with Jon Eley adding a bronze medal to his tally in the 500m event.

Jon set a new British Record for the event at 41.879sec, along with fellow Mohawk skater Paul Stanley, who beat the old British record with a tremendous 1.27.104sec in the 1000m.

The three Mohawks skaters, Jon Eley, Paul Stanley, and Tom Iveson with Paul Worth from Nottingham won the 'B' Final Relay, ahead of Germany, Russia and Japan placing them 5th in the competition and 7th in the world.

The team are now in Salt Lake City for the 6th and final World Cup event of the 2007/2008 season from February 8-10.
