Charity football match in Tamworth in aid of the Air Ambulance appeal

A CHARITY football match to raise money for the West Midlands Air Ambulance is to take place in Tamworth.

It has been organised by grateful friends of Nichola Baker, who had to be air-lifted to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham after a horse riding accident left her with a suspected broken pelvis, back, leg and internal injuries in April 2007.

It takes place at Tamworth's Queen Elizabeth Mercian School at 2pm on March 29.

Twenty two players will take to the field, all in aid of charity, there will be a man of the match trophy given to the best player and the first Julie Anne Florist cup for the winning team.

The referee and lines men have given their time for free and the pitch and changing rooms, organised through the Sports Campus, have also been given free.

During the match there will be fund raising and after at Tamworth sports bar, Victoria Rd, there is a buffet and auction of sports memorabilia sponsored by Nigel Grainger from the Crown at Codsall Wood. A team photo with the amount raised will be taken at the start of the match.

We look forward to your support and hope we raise the £1,000 target we have set for a great charity.
