Players wanted for Keswick Athletic FC Under 9s

KESWICK Athletic Football Club Under 9's are a new team, who hope to join the Central Warwickshire League next season.

We are looking for players, girls or boys, who will be 8 years old by 1st September, 2008. It doesn't matter how good you are, all are welcome.

We train every Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 3pm at Sheldon Country Park, near the car park. There is no training on 23rd March, 2008.

If you want to come along, contact me by email, keswick9@blueyonder.co.uk or phone me on 07960 210 206 and ask for Lesley.

I am the manager and coach of Keswick Athletic Under 9's, and am CRB checked and gained my FA football qualification last year, after completing a women only coaching course.

We started training a few months ago, but after lots of advertising, we still only have 4 players. If we cannot get enough players to join, then the team will not be able to join the league next season.

I have always loved football and many years ago had a successful trial with Chelsea Ladies FC, which unfortunately I was unable to take up.

I started this team for my nephew, as he was finding it difficult to find a club to play for, as they would only pick the best players, and I think it doesn't matter how good you are, if you are enjoying yourself.

The game is all about having fun at this age, and some clubs do take it too seriously. Whilst it would be nice to win the league and some cups, it's the taking part that matters, and having fun.
