Students appeal for sponsors to help Thailand tsunami victims

WITH the recent tragic headlines of the dangers of working abroad it is often not emphasized the thousands of young students who benefit themselves from such a tremendous experience and the humbleness they learn to respect and adopt whilst being in another culture.

Moreover it is not acknowledged the communities that are strengthened in hard times by being enriched with lasting sustainable knowledge but often merely encouraged by an extra 'pair of hands.

Such knowledge is not only used in order for possible tourism but also for durable development projects to be continued by the community after we have gone as well as for the foreseeable future.

It is armed with this knowledge, drive and commitment we introduce ourselves as a group of students from the University Of Birmingham volunteering scheme Intervol who have the desire to just help.

As of July of this year nine of us will be setting off to the Andaman Coast of Thailand for a five week project initially setup due to the disastrous Tsunami and continues as a long-term development plan. In order for this to be possible it is required that we have sponsorships so that we can actually make a difference with the tools and resources we go equipped with.

Therefore we would like to reach out to anyone, particularly large companies who may like to sponsor us. Who in doing so can be further exposed by the evening mail for doing so to contact us.

To contact us please email: Mxk656@bham.ac.uk
