Binbrook U13 Football win the Tesco U13 English Final

ON this Monday morning when all Birmingham City supporters are in hiding, some good new from the grass roots of football within the Birmingham area.

Binbrook U13 Boys football Team, last Saturday won the English final of the Tesco U13 Cup and will now represent England on the 17th May at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Binbrook who play in the Central Warwickshire Youth Football League qualified for the Tesco Cup as champions of the Central Warwickshire Youth Football Premier League from the 2006/2007 season.

Having successfully won the Midland region they beat teams from the central region to qualify for the English National Finals. In the finals day they beat the representative teams from the Northern and South West Regions to win the trophy.

The Tesco cup is a nationwide trophy which had at least 2,000 teams entered this year.

The team is based in Solihull, managed by Steve Grant and coached by ex-England international Andy Sinton.

On this day of mixed news for Midland Football a bit of good news that proves grass roots football in the region is flourishing.
