Rubery FC triumph in Devon Soccer Challenge

RUBERY FC Under 10's (7 a-side), already gaining promotion as runners-up in their Central Warwick Division, went on tour to Brixham to take part in the Devon Soccer Challenge organised by R&T Tours, along with the Under 13's & 14's from Rubery FC.

The team Coached by Steve Homer never concided a goal in open play, winning all three games on the first day, drew two and won one on the second day.

On the third day they won their final group game taking them into the semi final, against the London team Lea Valley who they had just played.

The semi-final went to penalties which saw Rubery triumphant after a fantastic save by the keeper in sudden death.

Rubery FC played Tipton Town in the final which was 0-0 at the end of time, penalties again which Rubery FC won 3-2.

Rubery Under 10's, Nobby, Doctor, Mad Dog, Legend, Smasher, Mini Sam, Crasher, Mozza & Ice Man were presented the Cup by Steve Claridge and a great party was had by all.

A great end to a great season they now move up to 11 a-side for 08/09 season
