Competition for budding authors

ASPIRING writers can put their talents to the test with a national competition aimed at unearthing new talent.

The Legend Writing Award is run by the Hastings Writers' Group and offers prizes of £500, £250, £100 and three of £50.

Entries may be any kind of story except children’s and there is a 2,000 word limit.

The closing date is August 31 and the entry fee is £7 for the first entry and £5 each subsequent entry.

Optional individual critiques available as an extra.
