PUPILS at a Birmingham put their backs into reviving a memorial to a fellow student who died in a road accident.

The young people at Shenley Court School in Northfield were taking part in a environmental audit project run by Cadbury's Brighter Futures and Shaw Trust.

They cleared, and planted fresh plants and are to get a plaque installed for dead student Danile Jinx, who died in a bus accident.

Spokesman Abu Sufian Miah said: "These young people are disengaged from mainstream education however during the course they have gained self esteem, motivation as well as leadership qualities.

"The story is great as I think with the current image of young people it is vital that we show that young people can achieve something special such as the development of this green space."
