Athlete Sara McGreavy to visit Barr Beacon Leisure Centre

TOP athlete Sara McGreavy will be visiting Barr Beacon Leisure Centre Holiday Club to inspire the local young children to participate in sport during an Olympic themed week.

The visit, on August 14, has been organised and funded by Sport England, as part of their Sporting Champions initiative.

Sara McGreavy is one of 90 athletes from across the country who is taking part in Sporting Champions visits in local community settings. The initiative aims to encourage more people to take part in community sport and lead healthier, more active lifestyles.

She was ranked fourth in the UK for 2006 and 23rd best ever in the 100m hurdles. For the 2005/2006 indoor season she was ranked third in the UK in 60m hurdles, and in 2007 became one of the British Top 10 fastest women over that distance ever.
