Sevacare UK workers on Romanian mercy mission

Deb Sutton, Rose Page, Margaret Grant, Elaine Barber and Charlotte Thornett.

FIVE women from the Midlands have gone on a mercy mission helping needy Romanian families.

The five - Deb Sutton, Rose Page, Margaret Grant, Elaine Barber and Charlotte Thornett - all work for Sevacare UK of Birmingham.

Elaine said: "We are planning to drive across Europe to Romania in a minibus taking aid to a town called Iasi.

"We shall be taking blankets, sports equipment, toys and toiletries to the families in the shanty towns. We are also going to a small farm completely run by teenage boys that have been rescued from living in the towns sewers and are football mad!

"We have raised funds through a quiz night, pub crawl and disco/show night and have been sponsored by our own company, Sevacare, GB training (who have supplied the minibus) and Voice mobile phones.

"We have never done anything of this sort before and four of us have never even driven on the wrong side of the road!

"I hope you can print our story to say a big thank you to the people of Birmingham, Coleshill and Oxford for their support and to wish us luck."
