Boldmere Swimming Club Juniors making a splash!

Boldmere Swimming Club Juniors

BOLDMERE Swimming Club Juniors have had the most successful year in the clubs history after reaching the National Junior League finals.

The Junior Leagues bring together swimmers between the ages of 9 and 12.

A season to remember started with the Midlands league in April with Boldmere Sc being the only club to provide 3 teams amongst the 66 that entered, a commitment of almost 100 juniors.

By the end of the league rounds in July, the A and B teams had qualified for their respective finals, the B team placed as the highest 2nd team in the league.

The finals at Wolverhampton on September 13 were a triumph for the clubs.

Having topped the league rounds, the A team confirmed their position by winning the finals for the first time in the clubs history by a clear margin.

That meant another first. The club now qualified for the Southern Area Finals for a chance to go with four teams to the National Finals.

On October 5, the team, revised by changes to age criteria, travelled to Aylesbury to take on the most successful Southern Clubs.

Once again they performed beyond expectation by placing second overall, and but for small mistakes, may well have returned with the winner's trophy.

The club now prepares for its first ever National finals with the congratulations of the City of Birmingham and Midlands League to take with them.

Boldmere Swimming Club provides opportunities from beginner level and welcome swimmers at all levels.
