Creature Features: New arrival in Wood

Percival a ring-tailed lemur with his mum Phoebe

Meet Percival, the first baby ring-tailed lemur born at Dudley Zoo for five years, pictured with mum Phoebe.

Assistant head of primates Pat Stevens said: “Percy is doing very well. He’s certainly got a good appetite.”

Phoebe and Percy can be seen in Lemur Wood, one of the largest walk-through enclosures for small primates in Europe. It is home to more than 30 free-roaming lemurs, a species which originates from the island of Madagascar but is threatened in the wild due to habitat destruction.
