Hello, my name is Sky and I’m a female Oriental short-clawed Otter...

I was born here at Dudley Zoo on February 12, 2009 along with my twin brothers Jack and Jet. Jack and I still live here with our mom Lucy and our dad Bruce.

We are the smallest type of otter in the world and come from South East Asia. As my name suggests, we have unusual front feet. The toes are not fully webbed and the fingers are ‘hand like’ and dexterous to help us feel through the mud on the bottom of rivers to locate molluscs, crustaceans and other small animals to eat.

We have long, sleek bodies and a strong tail making us excellent swimmers. We can close our ears and nostrils when underwater making swimming a more comfortable experience.

I am fed mainly on fish which my keepers hide around my pools and enclosure.
